First Recital

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Magei had her very first violin recital on Saturday.  She played Wish I Had a Motorcycle and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  She did awesome!  She was so nervous, so I was really proud of her!

The Beazers were so sweet to come and watch Magei perform.  It seriously is quite the treck for them to drive all the way to Powell.  It really made Magei’s day to have them there!

Nap Advice

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Calling all mothers!  When did you stop napping your kids?  Why?

I stopped Magei at 3.  Actually, is was more like 31/2.  I did this because she didn’t want to go to bed until 8:30 or 9:00.  Sam is exibhiting these same attitudes.  Some days he wont nap.  He’ll just play in his room the entire two hours of quiet time.  But he just turned 2 in January.  Could he really be getting over naps?  He does NOT want to go to bed at 7:00 lately.  It seems I’m fighting him until 8:00.

So, when did you stop the naps?  How did you know it was time?

I’m a Little Nervous

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

That is what Magei said as she was getting ready for church today.  It was her first talk in Primary!  She did an amazing job with her talk.  She read it all by herself with no help from anyone.  We practiced all day yesterday, and she was awesome!

Half a Decade

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Magei turned 5 years old last week!  She has been looking forward to turning 5 for quite a few months now.  We took her out to dinner at Cafe Istanbul.

We shared a huge plate of Turkish delights.  I can’t spell any of the stuff we had, so I wont even try…but it was really good.

Magei’s fondest wish was to go to Friends 2B Made and make a doll.  This is her new best friend, Lucy.

By some miracle, it was in the upper 50’s on Magei’s birthday.  We took advantage and took our first walk of the season to the library.

We made little princess cakes.  Good thing Magei wanted Sleeping Beauty, because Sam totally claimed Cinderella and would not give it up.

This year we got Magei her own personalized stationary cards and custom stamp.  This may seem like a lame gift, but Magei loves writing letters, so I knew she would love it.  She was seriously excited about it.  Happy Birthday, Mags!  We love you!
